For those of you who don't know, I have created a group on FB called "Handmade creations in Cyprus" with a purpose to bring together artists, crafters, creative people and simply handmade fans in Cyprus. From time to time, there will be a blog post on IDenteco introducing you to a member of our group, so you know what talented people we have here in Cyprus.
Today's short interview is with Oksana Dubickaite, the owner of Yarn Barn .
Oksana, tell us what do you create and why are your creations so special?
I make a lot of different crochet items. Everything started with my friend getting pregnant and I couldn’t find a present that I wanted to give her. So, I have made it myself. My creations are special in every way. They are made only for you with love and care and they can be customized in any way you want.
How long have you been in this business?
I have been in business for 5 years but it is not my main source of income. Currently, I keep it as a hobby with benefits 😁
What do you consider the most difficult part in the creation process ?
The most difficult thing is to start. I have to visualize the product and the process of making it in my head. It is very complicated as I have to understand how big it will be and what shape it is going to have. I had many cases when people showed me bad quality pictures of things they wanted ( e.g. an old baby toy without clear shape and color). It can get very complicated. But the end result is the most rewarding as you can see the happiness in people's faces. It pays back all my hard work.

You can buy them from my Facebook page #yarnbarncyprus or Instagram @yarnbarncy Sometimes I participate in Craft Fairs around Cyprus.
What advice or inspiration would you give to other handcrafters?
Well, I guess to be patient because all hard work pays off in different ways and be more open to new ideas.
